Hydrangea Linen Napkin in Pink, 50x50cm

Regular price £27.50

Description

Introducing ‘Pink Hydrangea’ - our dedication to the much anticipated Summer months.

Designed in collaboration with textile artist Chiara Grifantini, together we sought our inspiration from the blossoming and bountiful hydrangeas planted within the communal gardens of Notting Hill.

Crisp white forms an elegant backdrop to exuberant inflorescence's in warm, sultry shades of fuchsia, printed onto a 100% pure linen.

This napkin is the ultimate floral statement, for the happiest of tables, perfect for providing that distinctive feel of summer joy.

S&B x Chiara Grifantini.

A little message about our printed linens…

Linen is a beautiful and timeless fabric, loved for its natural and irregular look. Due to its textured rough surface and our manufacturing process, developed to relax and soften the fabric, your tablecloth and napkins may have some small white spots and areas of fading on the printed surface, which is characteristic of our technique. These irregularities are completely normal and make each item truly unique.

Standard UK delivery times are 3-4 days. To learn more click here.

Size

Care Instructions

Wash at up to 60 degrees on a regular cycle (avoid “eco” or longer cycles).
Never soak for longer than 10 minutes and avoid using Vanish and other whitening products.
Tumble dry at 70 degrees for a soft effect, and 90 degrees for a more crushed finish.
We don't recommend ironing the full cloth in order to keep the linen’s lovely crumpled texture intact, but we do like to iron the edges to give it a sharper edge.

About Us

Founded by June Summerill and Bernadette Bishop, two great friends with a truly effortless and unique sense of style, Summerill & Bishop first opened its doors on 18th May, 1994 in Holland Park, and has remained on the same quiet, leafy corner of Clarendon Cross ever since.

Fantastic home cooks and entertainers both, June and Bernadette were frustrated with the offerings at most kitchen and tableware shops at the time, and with the lack of personality and intimacy, so they decided to create one of their own, where beauty and functionality would both be key.

To commemorate Bernadette's passing, S&B trademarked her signature flower design and designed a beautiful line of linens which launched in Sept 2015. And that is how S&B decided to focus on table linen - the fabric of life.

At Summerill & Bishop we believe that if people take the time to lay the table and present a meal beautifully, they'll enjoy it all the more and create a lasting memory for those who share it with them.

For us, laying the table is an art form that we can all master at home and is one of the simplest ways to tell someone what they mean to you. The table isn't just a place to pass food, you pass tradition, memory, and love, too. Read our full story here...

The story

The collection derives its inspiration from the blossoming and bountiful hydrangeas planted within the communal gardens of Notting Hill. The sight of these precious blooms felt almost euphoric. For us, the hydrangea represents growth, vitality, nature and nurture - intrinsic elements to the S&B philosophy that the table is the beating heart of the home and the tablecloth is the fabric of life.
